Careers & Opportunities

We’re looking for talented individuals to join us and become part of the North Star Vets success story. Opportunities are available for new practice openings across the North West.

Veterinary Surgeon – Burford Lane Vets. Lymm, Cheshire

All applications considered

We're looking for an experienced vet with a strong surgical bias to join the caring team at our independent practice. This position may suit a certificate holder, a candidate wishing to pursue a surgery certificate, or someone who is keen to concentrate on surgery with less consulting. OV status would be an advantage, as would a graduate mentor.

We have an experienced team of three vets, two RVN's, one trainee, and four receptionists, with a growing, thriving client base, and a great relationship with the local community as can be seen by our over 300 five star Google reviews. You can check them out here: https://bit.ly/3TVEmy5

Our fellow practices in Westbrook and Sandymoor are both within a 30-minute drive. There are certificate holders at these surgeries in Medicine, Ophthalmology and Imaging so a vast array of experienced support is always available.

Our practice has been built to the highest spec with all new equipment in order to create an environment we are all incredibly proug to work in. Should you have a special interest, we are fully commited to investing in equipment needed to support that.

We are continuing to build a practice that encourages a collaborative and supportive team approach that helps our team members thrive. Full-time members of our team have the option to work four days out of five with a dedicated day off every week and we outsource our out of hours work to protect our team's work-life balance.

The relationshis we build with our clients and their community are very natural - and the reason for that is we care so much and what we do is authentic. We are invested in supporting our community with sponsorship of events, visiting schools and aim to continue to positively integrate in our local area.

If joining our mature, caring team sounds like it could be for you, we'd love to hear from you.

We do everything we can to look after our colleagues, including:

  • Full Time

Come and be part of something special

The opportunity

Our new, innovative, joint venture model is opening new practices in two amazing locations, and we’re looking for the right people to make them a success.

This is an opportunity to become an equity partner – no investment required – in your own practice, to have the freedom to recruit your own team and to run it as you wish. Plus we’ll give you the support and expertise of a highly experienced team, covering finance, HR, property, marketing and clinical practice.

All we need from you is a commitment to uphold our standards and ethics, and to develop a modern, forward-thinking, compassionate experience for our clients and patients.

The role

As the practice director, you will be expected to carry out a wide range of tasks, leading your clinical team, caring for pets and setting standards.

North Star Vets is committed to designing the best care package possible for each client and patient, and you and your team will be responsible for delivering that service in your practice.

The successful candidate

We’re looking for a candidate with a minimum of three years of post qualification experience, who is confident and capable of handling the day-to-day tasks of a small animal veterinary surgeon.

They will also be a leader and a convincing communicator, capable of hiring and managing a team motivated to deliver a fantastic service.

We want somebody who is excited by our goal of creating the best independent practices possible, and who can bring new ideas to the table in our pursuit of this.

The package

As well as a generous starting salary, we’re offering both a profit share and an equity stake to the successful candidate. That means owning equity in a practice without having to borrow a huge sum of money to buy-in.

Naturally, we’ll provide generous CPD funding and support any ideas to grow your practice. We believe in a work-life balance with 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays and no nights.

We have ambitious plans to open practices across the North West in the near future, with further joint business opportunities for motivated vets.
